“Simply Simplify It!” says Nutritionist Kinita Kadakia Patel on bringing athlete grade nutrition to everyday life.

Kinita is a Metabolic Reset and Body Transformation Specialist, known for restoring metabolic health, improving body composition, and enabling sustainable weight loss. She began her journey 25 years ago with a Master’s in Dietetics, later specializing in Sports Nutrition. At a time when the field was barely recognized in India and mostly linked to elite athletes, she remained committed to its growth. “Over two decades in this field, now we see a significant shift and increased awareness. Choosing this path was driven by my desire to help people move beyond just “dieting” and instead adopt a more performance focused & sustainable approach to health” she says.
Keeping her goal of simplifying the science of nutrition Kinita started MEALpyramid over 20 years ago with a vision to help individuals transform their health and become their best selves. “At MEALpyramid,I strongly believe that when you truly understand food and its functions, you can make better, more informed choices. The idea behind MEALpyramid is simple, practical, personalised and focused on long-term transformation rather than quick fixes.”

Her philosophy is that one need not be an athlete to eat like one; adopting a few key principles can help individuals perform at their best in everyday life. “Athlete-grade nutrition isn’t about complicated diets or extreme discipline or calculating every bite you eat. It’s about consistency, balance, and understanding what your body truly needs” she explains. Her approach focuses on making these practices simple, sustainable, and tailored to each individual’s lifestyle.
Kinita has worked with multiple celebrities and well-known sportspersons whose requirements for health and wellness can be very varied and unique. “I have worked closely with Genelia & Riteish, who follow a Vegan Diet and our aim was to formulate a plan not only keeping their Vegan preference in mind but also for it to be practical and performance driven” she says.
At the same time some requirements can be challenging as well, “Shweta Tiwari came to me post the delivery of her son, Reyansh and her struggles were real. While she needed to achieve weight loss, which we successfully did, in a few years post that she decided to do Khatron Ke Khiladi. At that point we needed to transform her body from being thin to being super-fit: and she absolutely nailed it with her hard work and dedication”.
“The key is to Eat! Eat Right, Eat Better, Eat Complete!” she says is what it takes to help those suffering from chronic diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, PCOS etc. She also mentions that most of these diseases can be managed and even reversed through small, consistent lifestyle changes. Focusing on balanced meals, the right nutrient combinations, and proper meal timing along with regular physical activity, quality sleep, and effective stress management aid in achieving sustainable, long-term health improvements. She is also a strong advocate of a no sugar lifestyle, “cutting out added sugars not only supports better weight management but also an elevated metabolic health”.
On what the future of wellness and nutrition might look like she mentions that it “should move from being trendy to sustainable – a concept that’s practical, inclusive, and easy to maintain. Nutrition will be a part of everyday life, not a separate effort.”
