Sunitha Peruri’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention and remarkable inner strength

Born in Palakollu, West Godavari, and raised in Nalgonda district in a modest middle-class family, she grew up as the eldest daughter—responsibility arriving earlier than readiness. “When the early responsibilities hit me, I was not ready,” she reflects. “I had to overcome the situations, and that made me the woman I am today. I gained from pain.”Sunitha Peruri has built her life not on ease, but on endurance.
Though she describes herself as an average student, her aspirations were anything but ordinary. She trained in classical dance and singing, yet her clearest dream was to become a business owner.
Marriage at eighteen brought new chapters—motherhood, financial pressures and adult responsibilities layered upon youthful ambition. With quiet determination, she completed her B.A., worked for three years at an Aadhaar Centre, and later earned her M. Com while raising two children. Education was not convenience; it was commitment.

Her professional turning point came when she entered real estate—despite limited English fluency, no prior industry experience and a modest salary. “I had to prove myself as a woman realtor in Hyderabad,” she says. “I want to help people understand the real value of compounding their money, guide them through legal aspects and give them the right property so that they and their families can have a blissful life. That is my real kick.”
Over twelve years, she rose steadily through the ranks. She learned on the ground, strengthened her communication and built deep client relationships. “Empathy has helped me understand perspectives beyond numbers,” she explains. “It helped me build trust within clients and support teams and lead with balance.”
Her growth led her to co-found a real estate firm in Hyderabad, handling transactions worth crores and establishing strong industry credibility. Yet life was preparing her for a far greater test.
Three years ago, Sunitha lost her husband.
The loss was sudden, devastating and life-altering. It was not only the absence of a life partner—it was the loss of emotional companionship, guidance and shared dreams. “That loss made me stronger and more focused,” she shares with striking honesty. “I did not like the sense of pity the world was showing me. I chose to study, be there for my children, and keep moving forward.”
In the silence that follows grief, many withdraw. Sunitha rebuilt.
She stepped away from her earlier firm, recalibrated her direction and resolved to become both anchor and armour for her children. The pain did not weaken her—it clarified her purpose. She would stand not as someone to be pitied, but as someone to be respected.

With the encouragement of two individuals who believed in her leadership, she founded Twila Homes Pvt Ltd., and with their support she restarted her entrepreneurial journey.
“Twila refers to light in darkness,” she explains. “It resembles my personal life and self-worth—creating my own path after being unrecognised and standing as a woman in the real estate industry. I want to inspire others to believe in themselves.”
Today, Twila Homes is expanding with multiple mandate projects and growing market credibility, built firmly on integrity and transparency. “When work gets stressful, I focus on doing the right thing,” she says. “That helps me stay true to my values and build trust.”
In an industry that can be unrelenting, especially for women leaders, she balances authority with compassion. “Staying true to my values helps me balance strength with compassion, and conviction with grace—even in challenging spaces.”
Actively involved in professional forums such as BNI and Junior Chamber International, she continues to learn, network and evolve.
To women navigating grief, doubt or daunting new beginnings, her message is steady and sincere: “To every woman at some hard turn—trust yourself. Brave your strength and start moving without fear. You will find your way forward.”
Sunitha Peruri’s story is not merely about real estate. It is about reclaiming identity after loss, transforming pain into power and choosing light—even when life turns dark.
