Two decades later, The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings back cinema’s most iconic editor–assistant duo in a teaser that has the fashion world buzzing

The fashion universe stood still for 52 seconds as the makers of The Devil Wears Prada 2 unveiled a teaser that finally reunites Meryl Streep’s formidable Miranda Priestly with Anne Hathaway’s unforgettable Andy Sachs — twenty years after they first ruled Runway Magazine.
The clip opens with a nostalgic jolt, Miranda’s unmistakable stride echoes through the glossy hallways of Runway, red stilettos striking like a metronome of power. She steps into an elevator, only to be joined by Andy, now poised and confident. Without missing a beat, Miranda delivers the icy line fans have waited years to hear, “Took you long enough,” as Andy answers with a knowing smirk, sliding on her sunglasses — a silent nod to everything that has changed, and everything that hasn’t.
The sequel brings back the full powerhouse cast — Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci — returning to the high-stakes glamour of New York City’s fashion corridors. The film, slated for release on May 1, 2026, promises to pick up the threads of ambition, loyalty, and rivalry that made the original a global phenomenon.
There’s a new addition to the lineup: Kenneth Branagh, who, according to Variety will play the husband of Miranda Priestly — the sharp and sophisticated editor-in-chief who built an empire on precision, taste, and unapologetic authority.
Variety also reveals the film’s central conflict, The Devil Wears Prada 2 follows Miranda as she navigates a fashion world where print is fading fast. Her survival depends on securing vital advertising from a luxury group — now controlled by none other than her former junior assistant, Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt), who has risen to become a high-powered executive. A battle of wills, style, and strategy is inevitable.
Directed again by David Frankel, the original 2006 film chronicled the journey of a young woman thrown into the unforgiving world of a prestigious fashion magazine — a story that has since become a cultural landmark.
Now, with the legends returning and the stakes higher than ever, one thing is certain: fashion’s most iconic saga is ready for its next chapter — and the devil is, once again, in the details.
