A 35-year-old rapper, fresh off electrifying stages in Kathmandu's underground scene, steps into Nepal's highest office. Balendra Shah, better known as Balen, isn't just making history he's remixing it.

On the very day he was elected leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party's  parliamentary wing, hours before swearing in as Nepal's 40th Prime Minister, Balen unleashed his music video for “Jay Mahakaali”. Talk about timing that hits harder than a bass drop.

This isn't your typical politician's playlist filler. The track pulses with raw patriotism, calling for national unity amid Nepal's turbulent politics. Filmed with gritty clips from his whirlwind election campaign, it blends Madhesi pride, Balen's the first from the region to claim the PM seat with  vibes that scream "one Nepal." Released publicly on March 26 , the video exploded, racking up 26.39 lakh views by Friday. Fans are flooding comments with fire emojis, hailing it as the soundtrack to a new era.

Balen's rise feels like a Bollywood underdog tale crossed with a hip-hop biopic. From battling city hall as Kathmandu's mayor to toppling Nepal's old guard, this RSP firebrand has youth, swagger, and street cred in spades. He's Nepal's youngest PM ever, proving politics doesn't have to be a suit-and-tie snooze fest. And he's not stopping at one track, word is two more songs are dropping soon, keeping the momentum alive. In a nation craving change, this rapper-PM might just be the remix Nepal needs.
