Sunfeast YiPPee!, in collaboration with NGO ‘Way for Life’, is driving awareness among students on plastic waste management through initiatives like the YiPPee! Better World Science Mela. Held at Government Higher Primary School, Whitefield, Bengaluru, the event featured a science exhibition centred on the 3R principles—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Students showcased innovative projects, participated in a sustainability-themed drawing competition, and ran eco-conscious stalls. Notably, 100 benches and desks made from recycled plastic were donated to the school, reinforcing the program’s mission to promote a circular economy.

Dr Agatha Betsy, Head - Nutrition Sciences ITC Ltd., remarked, “This initiative is a step towards nurturing environmentally responsible citizens.” Kavita Chaturvedi, COO, Snacks, Noodles & Pasta, ITC Foods, added, “By inculcating waste-segregation habits and recycling waste into useful resources, we are empowering the next generation to become champions of sustainability.”

Since its launch in 2022, the YiPPee! Better World Program has engaged over 21 lakh students across 4,000+ schools, collecting 58,000 kg of plastic waste and deploying 4,000+ recycled desks and benches. This aligns with ITC’s broader commitment to plastic neutrality, partnering with government and civic bodies to create a cleaner, healthier tomorrow.
