Sanjay Dutt’s new Mumbai restaurant Alta Stella is all about stars and theatrics.

Perched high above the city on the 30th floor, Alta Stella instantly sets the mood for an evening that feels nothing short of cinematic. This Andheri hotspot blends luxury dining with a strong element of theatre, both on the plate and in the glass.
Alta Stella is co-owned by actor Sanjay Dutt and Haryana-based shipping and hospitality entrepreneur Abhimanyu Jakhar.
The moment you step in, you’re greeted by an ambience that mirrors a sky full of stars, complemented by a breathtaking skyline view of Mumbai. The vibe is immersive yet elegant. It is clearly designed for those who enjoy more than just a meal, but a full-fledged experience.
What truly sets Alta Stella apart is its zodiac-inspired cocktail menu. Guests are welcomed with zodiac tags, adding a personal touch right from the start. But don’t worry if you’re unsure. An in-house mixologist helps curate a drink suited to your palate. Each cocktail arrives with a theatrical flourish. Case in point: Themis, inspired by Libra, is presented with a delicate balancing scale, complete with a tiny blueberry perched to maintain equilibrium. The drink itself is as refined as its presentation, perfectly balanced, smooth and I will give it a 10/10.

Moving to the food, Alta Stella keeps its menu concise but impactful, offering a mix of Italian, North Indian, Asian and Indo-Chinese flavours. The small plates are a great place to start with the Prawn Tempura Roll standing out with its crisp texture and flavour-packed bite.

For mains, you should go for the Truffle Wild Mushroom Risotto. It is rich, earthy and indulgent, while the Chicken Parmigiana Milanese delivers comfort with a gourmet edge. Another must-try is the Chopper Rice and Noodles Bowl. The highlight being the sunny-side-up egg on top. As the yolk breaks and blends into the rice or noodles, it elevates the dish into something truly satisfying. For the desserts, go the sinful Boozy Old Monk Mud Pie.

Alta Stella isn’t just about food, it’s about drama, detail and a sense of occasion. Whether you’re there for the views, the cocktails or the cuisine, it delivers an experience that lingers well after you’ve left.
