“Maa ho paas, bas itni si chah hai… Par asaan kahan iss beti ki raah hai…”

At the core of Binddii lies a question every child has whispered at some point: what is home without a mother? For Binddii, the answer has always been found behind prison walls, where her mother Kajal’s love turned cold stone into warmth.
Set in Mathura, the series tells the stirring tale of a girl born and raised in captivity, her world no larger than the space her mother filled with lullabies and whispered hopes. But life outside the prison gates proves crueller than confinement. When Binddii is separated from Kajal, she uncovers a devastating truth: her father, Aviraj, betrayed Kajal, conspiring with mafia don Dayanand Chaudhury for wealth and power. Determined not to let her mother’s sacrifice be in vain, Binddii sets her sights on education and justice, vowing to one day bring Kajal home.

For actress Radhika Muthukumar, who steps into Kajal’s shoes, the role resonated deeply. “When I first heard Kajal’s story, it broke me from within,” she reflects. “Imagine being punished for a crime you never committed, yet still weaving a cocoon of love so your daughter never feels the weight of chains. Kajal’s journey is heartbreaking, but it is also a reminder that even in the darkest corners, a mother’s love becomes the fiercest force of survival.”
At the heart of the story is Binddii herself, played by Sanchi Bhoyar, who admits the role challenged her in unexpected ways. “She’s so innocent, yet life forces her to grow up too soon. All she wants is to become her mother’s warrior. What moved me most was her decision to fight back with kindness instead of bitterness—that’s what makes her special to me.”

The villains of the piece lend the drama its menacing edge. Krushal Ahuja, taking on his first negative role as Aviraj, says, “Kajal would move heaven and earth for her daughter, while Aviraj doesn’t even acknowledge he has one. He feels no remorse as he manipulates her and joins forces with Dayanand. That makes him far more chilling than a one-note villain.”
Meanwhile, Manav Gohil embodies the ruthless Dayanand Chaudhury. “Dayanand thrives on corruption and control. He genuinely believes his actions are justified, and that conviction makes him terrifying. There’s no redeeming him, which is exactly what drew me to the role,” he shares.
Binddii is more than just another television drama; it is a story about innocence lost, love unbroken, and a daughter’s courage against insurmountable odds.
Having premiered on 17th September, airing every day at 8:30 pm on COLORS and JioHotstar, this is one story that promises to linger long after the credits roll.
