Irish actor Barry Keoghan, known for his role in Saltburn, has opened up about the abuse he faces online, particularly criticism about his appearance. While he values his loyal and loving fanbase, he said there is also a toxic side to social media that has taken a toll on him.

Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, Keoghan admitted the negativity has made him withdraw, sometimes avoiding events and even staying indoors. He also expressed concern and sadness that his son, Brando, may one day read the hurtful comments directed at him.

Keoghan, who became a father in August 2022 with his former partner Alyson Sandro, previously deleted his social media accounts in 2024 after facing intense backlash following his breakup with singer Sabrina Carpenter.
Despite the impact on his confidence and daily life, Keoghan continues to focus on his work and is currently filming The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, directed by Sam Mendes.
