Sometimes, the best weekends are the unplanned ones — ours at Aalankrita Resort & Convention turned into a refreshing family break filled with laughter, quiet moments, and a few lovely surprises along the way

There are weekends that help you unwind, and then there are weekends that leave you with memories you cherish long after you’ve checked out. Our recent stay at Aalankrita Resort & Convention was exactly that — a delightful family getaway that blended relaxation, celebration and endless fun for us and our little girl.

Nestled amidst lush greenery in Shamirpet, this 4-star ISO-certified resort truly feels like a peaceful escape from the bustle of Hyderabad. From the moment we arrived, the expansive landscaped gardens, serene pathways and charming villas created an instantly calming atmosphere. The property is beautifully maintained and offers the perfect setting for families looking to spend quality time together.

For my daughter, however, there was only one clear favourite — the water park. And honestly, I can see why. The slides were the absolute highlight of our stay. She was ecstatic from the moment she stepped in and spent hours splashing around, laughing endlessly and racing back for “just one more slide”. Getting her to leave the water park was nearly impossible — she simply didn’t want the fun to end. If you’re travelling with children, this alone makes the resort worth visiting. Watching her enjoy herself so wholeheartedly made the trip even more special for us.

At their indoor Entertainment Zone, there was plenty to keep both her and us engaged — from Carrom, Chess, Foosball, Table Tennis and Darts to a gaming arcade featuring PS2, PS3, Xbox and Wii consoles, ensuring there was never a dull moment during our stay.

What made the weekend further memorable was that it coincided with my birthday. In a thoughtful and unexpected gesture, the team sent a lovely cake to my room. It was a sweet surprise and truly reflected the warmth and attention to detail that their hospitality team extends to guests. It’s often these small gestures that leave the biggest impression, and this one certainly made my day extra special.

The dining experience was equally enjoyable. Breakfast featured an exhaustive spread with plenty of options, and everything we tried was delicious. From local favourites to continental selections, there was something for everyone in the family. During our stay, we also tried the Paneer Khurchan and Dum Ka Murg Zafrani — both dishes were flavourful and absolutely worth ordering.

Beyond the water park, the resort also offers a spa, swimming pool, indoor and outdoor activities, multiple dining options and impressive event spaces that make it a sought-after destination for weddings and celebrations. It’s easy to see why it continues to be popular among families, couples and event planners alike.

A heartfelt thank you to the Executive Director, Aditya Deenadayal and the entire Aalankrita team for their wonderful hospitality and for making our weekend getaway so memorable. We returned refreshed, happy and already planning our next visit.
